Most warehousing facilities in the United States are outdated. In a March 2022 report, real estate services giant JLL estimated that the average age of the country’s industrial warehouses is 42 years old. Buildings constructed more than twenty years ago account for three-quarters of the total industrial supply, with more than one-quarter of all inventory over 50 years of age.
